An essential prerequisite for the success of Industry 4.0 is the training of professionals who are competent to make effective use of the great opportunities offered by innovative solutions of the fourth industrial revolution. The INDEX course, offered as OER via open edX platform has a modular structure and covers the following areas:

• Introductory Course, Industry 4.0
• Entrepreneurship, Technology and Restructuring Management (E-TRIM)
• Sensors and Automation
• Additives Manufacturing
• Internet of Things
• Augmented Reality
• Virtual Reality

  The courses are divided into three levels.

  • Basic (Introductory Course, Industry 4.0)
  • Intermediate (Seven separate modules on the indsutrial topics and management)
  • Advanced (Case Studies)

The course is based on the INDEX didactical concept refering to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), along with methodology for validation and assessment – a written guideline describing the use of the INDEX platform, its application and the vocational education approaches,  and the INDEX competence profile  –  a state of the art market, education training demand analysis of the relevant industries in partner countries.
